KANGAROO (PG)

107 mins

Director:  Kate Woods

Starring:  Ryan Corr, Lilly Whiteley, Deborah Mailman

Synopsis:

KANGAROO is a heart-warming family comedy about ex TV personality, Chris Masterman, who becomes stranded in an Outback town outside Alice Springs. There, he teams up with 12-year-old Indigenous girl Charlie. The pair form an unlikely friendship and work together to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys in the remote but stunning Outback community -- an endeavor that proves to be life-changing for them both.

From the studio that brought you Paddington, and based on an incredible true story.

Reviews:

"Unfussily directed by Kate Woods with an eye for spectacular Outback landscapes and the extraordinary quality of light, Kangaroo is a gentle crowd-pleaser."   ***   TIME OUT

"It’s generic stuff -- the adorable redemption arc is as predictable as the boxing kangaroo comedy interlude. But it’s a wholesome, likeable option for younger audiences, and a refreshingly human alternative to machine-tooled studio offerings."   OBSERVER
